Woman’s Health and Pelvic Floor

From pregnancy to pelvic dysfunction, physical therapy can help. Jacobo Physical Therapy is one of the only outpatient physical therapy clinics in Kern County that focuses on women’s health. 

From work to recreation, pregnancy to menopause, and throughout the entirety of a woman’s life, physical therapy empowers women to take control of pain and dysfunction related to a variety of conditions. 

Jacobo Physical Therapy’s women’s health program addresses musculoskeletal issues that are unique the women, providing proactive treatments that improve function, decrease pain, and allow clients to achieve their fullest potential. We treat women of all ages to restore confidence and function for a variety of issues. 

Our physical therapist, Gracie Jacobo treats a variety of pelvic floor and women’s health conditions. Here are some common ones:

Pelvic Floor Conditions:

  1. Urinary Incontinence: Loss of bladder control, leading to leakage.
  2. Fecal Incontinence: Inability to control bowel movements.
  3. Pelvic Organ Prolapse: Dropping of pelvic organs due to weakened pelvic floor muscles.
  4. Pelvic Pain: Chronic pain in the pelvic region.
  5. Painful Bladder Syndrome: Chronic bladder pain and discomfort.
  6. Dyspareunia: Painful intercourse.
  7. Vaginismus: Involuntary contraction of vaginal muscles.
